When I first started doing hair I had no freakin clue what I doing!
I graduated cosmetology school and started working at a booth rent salon where most of my knowledge came from "experience" aka trial and error... a lot of error. I sometimes wish I would have started out as an assistant somewhere and learned from a seasoned professional. But that's not my story and I truly believe that "mistake" is what gave me the passion for teaching others. I've learned so much of what I know the hard way and I want to make sure you don't have to suffer through making the same mistakes that I did!
Over the course of my career I have taken dozens of classes from different brands
and independent educators. In person, online, one on one... you name it, I've done
it. And let me tell you, I would not be the hairstylist I am today without taking
those classes. I have a burning desire to learn and that's exactly what it
takes to excel in this industry. The most important thing I have ever done
for myself is invest in my growth and my education. I still make mistakes
behind the chair because unforeseen things can happen but now I have
the tools to be able to fix anything that can go wrong. I want to make your
life easier and answer all of the same questions that I had when I first
started.
I developed Enlightened Edu with a goal of inspiring authenticity and positivity. We all have something to share and wisdom that comes naturally to us. I want you to leave my classes feeling supported and inspired to share what you've learned to fellow professionals. My mission is to help as many people as I can, whether that be through my education or through my students. I hope that when you go back into the salon or post on social media that you uplift others with your knowledge. This investment in yourself will never be diluted by sharing it with someone else. Pay it forward and allow that good karma to come back around ten fold.
